The history of the company Rota Transportes starts in 1978, in the Brazilian city of Itapetinga. At that time, 10 municipalities, between the south and southeast of the state, began to have semi-urban and terrestrial passenger transport service.
Seventeen years later, in 1995, the history of Rota Trasporte changes its course. The company is acquired by the Brazilian Group, changes its headquarters through the welcoming city of Itabuna and then expands its infrastructure and services. A new fleet of 98 buses, was used for covering 56 different lines, linking even more the south-east of Bahia. The number of collaborators practically triples, and Rota incorporates new services, tourism and transportation of parcels, offering more options to users.
To date, Rota Transportes, proud of being a Bahian, grew much more and shorten the roads between the southern, southwestern and southern regions of the state of Bahia and links the capital Salvador with other cities in the north and north of the state.
It is also present in other northeast capitals such as Aracaju - SE, Maceió - AL and Joao Pessoa - PB. Currently, Rota has 234 buses, 89 agencies, generates more than 900 direct work spaces and more than 300 indirect ones.
Rota is headquartered in Itabuna and maintains subsidiaries in the cities of Ilheus, Itapetinga, Vitoria da Conquista, Ubatá, Salvador, Aracajú, Maceió and João Pessoa.
